Daniel Golman - Clinical Psychologist, Author & Educator.
Coaching in all its forms has been shown to be one of the most effective personal development tools available, producing a "markedly positive" impact in the lives on individuals and on the culture of teams and organisations of all kinds. It is a highly effective way to tackle tough situations and cope with new challenges. Sessions can reveal new approaches, ideas and insights about the way you view yourself and your abilities and plan for sucess. If you are experiencing strategic, operational or interpersonal challenges in the workplace, a change of team, the risk of redudancy or uncertainty about the future, coaching can shine a light and help you find a positive, pro-active way forward.
A frequent cause of low morale, absenteeism, stress and high rates of sickness absence at work is linked to internal disharmony. This can leave talented, dedicated and otherwise successful people feeling vulnerable, defensive and upset. Coaching works by helping you find ways to resolve these struggles. It does so because you set the agenda. The coaching process facilitates exploration. It allows you to develop your thinking, explore your needs, define your professional and personal values, goals and ideas so you can take the steps necessary to effect change. Clients report the coaching, reflective practice and constructive challenge I offer, results in a "can-do" mindset, more harmonious relationships, increased confidence, creativity and resilience.
